Dear List,

Yes the starch (I'm using cooking/corn startch) does need to be boiled!!!!!! 
Made a small test with my cooked starch some charcoal dust and a small 
plastic container (as a form). I must say that the COOKED starch seems to be 
a good glue. There could be one more problem but it may be that I did not let 
it dry enough before I tried to remove it from the container. The top was 
good and hard but under the crust it was poor adhesion. Think it's time to 
cook up about a gallon of starch and give the fireballs one more go
