Hi Jonathan & List,

We do have net metering schemes in the UK, and they are generally aimed at
people with solar pV who want to sell a bit back to the grid.

It's more about companies trading in carbon credits, than renewable energy,
but it is a step in the right direction.

Commercial rape seed oil can be produced for about GBP 0.42 per litre. That
is just cold pressed, filtered oil, without degumming or any addditional
processes.

The Listeroid engines are available from India in a variety of different
sizes. The most recent I heard of is a 28 hp twin cylinder from
Powersolutions in WA.

I can report as of today, my genset has made it's first kWh on veg-oil.

My requrements here are fairly modest, I use 3000kWh of electricity per year
and 17800kWh of natural gas for heating.

regards,

Ken
