Sorry for this cross-posting, but I think a lot of people are
still not aware that they are not posting to the appropriate forum. It
isn't just the gasification/stoves that is a problem -- the vast
majority of the posts to gasification for months now (and maybe more,
but that's when I came back down out of the northwoods and had
internet access again) has been totally off-topic. And stoves as well
-- very little on either list about actual gasification or stoves
design.
I'm as guitly of participating in this as anyone else -- but
please, I think it's time for the moderators to be a little more
proactive in stopping off-topic posts. Especially since, unlike many
other forums, we do have, right here on repp, the other relevant
forums for these discussions, and it is essentially trivial for people
to sign up to those other lists and post in the right area.
If you use a threaded mail reader like Thunderbird in which you
can so easily create filters to put the messages from the various
lists into their own folder, you'd quickly understand how frustating
it is when discussions on ethanol production appear in stoves, or
gasification, where they really have no place. If there were not the
other forums like bioconversion, or bioenergy, then perhaps there
would be an excuse for that, but.....
