So with Tom Miles' warnings about slagging from potassium in the ash we have 
to look at ways of mitigating the low fusion temperatures. You mention 
firstly leaching, which is enhanced by harvesting later in the season and 
then some burners that can handle higher levels of chlorine and potassium. 
Perhaps someone can mention what sort of techniques are involved.

On [stoves] we have talked of "washing" soluble solids from manure. On the 
industrial scale it is common to at limestone to absorb mineral acids in the 
combustion zone. What other techniques?
