Ya got me !   I asked several questions while I had the chance to  
talk to the Chemical Engineer who told me about it, but I never quite  
understood him.

I first asked if the clay powder had the ability to combine with the  
potassium in the flame and neutralize it.

Nope, guess not.   That was my conclusion after two minutes of  
listening...
