Dear Bioconversion List:
I think everyone on this list knows by now that producing ethanol has very big economic and environmental potential, and now;
A new study indicates that what I have been saying about the AAEC Sequential Grates biomass conversion system is correct, that the system AAEC is developing is more in line with what this country and the rest of the world needs than the current method of producing ethanol.
Here is a clip from a Reuters news article that came out just last week.
"We find that ethanol, if made correctly, can contribute significantly to both energy and environmental goals. However, the current way of producing ethanol with corn probably only helps to meet energy goals," so said Alexander Farrell at the University of California Berkeley.
See the referenced news article at http://www.planetark.com/dailynewsstory.cfm/newsid/34678/story.htm - and search google for "cellulistic gasification" and/or let me know if further information would be useful.
