I just got back from the MREA (Midwest Renewable Energy Assoc.)
Fair. What a great event! This was by far the biggest one yet. Anyway
-- at one of the book stalls, I came across a neat book, apparantly
published in 2004, but new to me. It's titled "Rocket Mass Heaters:
Superefficient woodstoves you can build (and snuggle up to)" by Ianto
Evans & Leslie Jackson. Some folks here, I believe, are acquainted
with Ianto Evans, who has worked on a lot of stove projects in
Guatemala and other places.
Primarily the book details how to build a larger rocket stoves
with steel drums and masonry, combining the rocket stove principle
with a masonry heater. Pretty cool, for those of us who have been
looking for wood heat stove designs.
The book can be obtained from the publisher, Cob Cottage
Publications, Box 942, Coquille, OR 97423. Or
http://www.cobcottage.com, or phone 541-942-2005. $18 US
Or you could get it from the people I got it from who have a
whole lot of other great green building, homesteading, back to the
land, etc. type books.
