Hi Jeff, I guess the dry weight would be a fair bit less, - although the individual mushroom
itself is quite light, (4 tons was a very large amount of mushrooms) when stepped
on, they become a mush.
It is, however very interesting to think of mushrooms bio-converting wood to sugar, or even as
fuels.
Yes Mushrooms do not need light, - we used to grow them in an old railway tunnel.
