[Bioconversion] Conserve -- Even the Air Force Wants to CutOil's Role

I have another theory.
I am old enough to remember the days when we had electricity and cars, but NO OIL.
Oil has changed our thinking, that all energy must come from ONE source. In the discussions I often asked myself "why do we never investigate different sources for different types of energy as it used to be before 1950.
Ok, we are more spoiled these days of having more cars etc etc, but neverthless we should look at diversity again, like nature is.

DD attacks the scientists, why ? We have to work together from all angles and not always blame the others.
DD, have you ever thought why you are able to see all these wonderful weather pattern on TV or on the computer ?
Thus I agree with AJH that we became so dependant on cheap energy because we stopped thinking on alternatives as we used to 50-60 years ago.
I am very confident that we eventually free ourselves from the present industrial system of "one source to one product" . which is the cause of all pollution and go back to the old theory "One source to many products" or "Many sources to many products" and we find much better sustainability. Money is not every thing, it helps, but does not make happy !
Just some thoughts to the bioconversion conversation.

Yes Geoff but I see you got the point I was trying to make, thanks.

Understanding the problem is the first step. To my mind the problem is
that we are dependant on cheap energy to sustain our economies. The
reason the energy is cheap is that the producers do not bear the full
external costs of its use. On the surface bio derived fuels have
  little such costs.
