Not a problem with me Peter, I don't mind which method is used for
conversion of biomass to a fuel with higher utility, refining biomass
has been my main interest these last few years.

Peter I've just got in from work so haven't had time to check your
other post, I've put it aside for some later reading. I do prefer to
see SI units for calculations on an international list, if you must
side with imperialists then SI units in brackets is fine.

I don't know but am happy to discuss, I recently made a proposal of my
own for using electricity to heat something ;-)

Actually Peter has drawn the wrong inference, I didn't make a value
judgment I just pointed out that I was only aware of arc furnaces at
industrial scale being used where electricity was cheap. As you know
electric heating can be very appropriate for things like induction
hardening and high temperature furnaces, in the one case because it
can be well targeted and concentrated, so the effect takes place
before heat is lost by conduction and in the other simply because it
removes any losses due to mass flow.

Not so Peter, I posted about my how I saw electric arcs being used in
the past, I pre qualified this with the admission I was not "up to
speed on it" and in any case there should be no special emphasis
attributed to my posts over any other contributor's, I'm not the list
owner and I try to keep administrative posts clearly separate.
