Hello Rob
The compost standard is the BSI PAS 100 (British Standards Institute,
Publically Available Standard 100). It specifies what feedstock must be
used and what the parameters of the compost output are from a composting
system. I have created a stub article on Wikipedia that is available
here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BSI_PAS_100 although it presently
lacks detail.
An introduction to the standard is available here
http://www.wrap.org.uk/downloads/Introduction_to_BSI_PAS_100-20052.76987
c78.pdf . You can get a full copy of the specification by e-mailing WRAP
who will send you a hard copy through.
With regards to the SEPA standard, I understand this is embryonic at
present. Here is the introduction presentation
http://www.all-energy.co.uk/UserFiles/File/David_Collins.pdf. I believe
I may be working on this in the near future, hence the reaon for my
original post & information request.
Best regards

Mr. Marshall,
I'm not aware of any digestate standards in the US (though I haven't
been following the issue lately). Can you point me to the UK composting
standard and the digestate standard being considered in Scotland?
Thanks.
