[Digestion] Digester for Municipal Waste (Bernd Haase)

G'day All,

If you only look at an individual unit as the basis of a discussion you
may well end up with that unit working really well, but not fitting in
to the surrounding system.

Biogas should preferably be used directly, as electricity generation is
not efficient (it is a bit better if you can use the waste heat as Art
suggests).

You may get more energy by burning manure then you get from anaerobic
digestion, but then were to the organic fertilisers/nutrients that are
needed for crop growth come from?

We need to keep a wider system in mind, then the slightly reduced
performance of one unit may be balanced by much superior "system"
operation. Not everything has to be high tech, peak efficiency - that
requires a lot of management to maintain.

All the best,
HOOROO
