G'day Marcel,
Estimating volume is a bit hard with a tractor tyre - for experimental
work I would use a "floating drum" with graduations (and I have set up
to log mine hourly using a variable resistor, so it is cheap except for
the logger).
The "poly" digester is very cheap and easy - you just have to be careful
not to puncture it! Of course you can spend more money and get tougher
material, so the choice is yours!
