[Digestion] How do make the methane usable?

Dear Saroka,
you can use the floating dome of biogas plant, as a storage for the gas. In
this mode, the digester is filled with water. Introduce the gas into the
dome through the gas cock fitted at the top of the dome, which gets lifted
out of the water as it gets filled with gas. Close the cock when the dome is
full of gas and connect the gas cock to the gas burner. The weight of the
floating dome is generally enough to drive the gas to the burner. If the
weight of the floating dome is not enough to produce the necessary pressure,
you can place additional weights of the dome to create extra pressure. You
may have to remove the extra weights when filling your gas holder. Such a
biogas storage system can be fabricated from two plastic tanks or barrels,
having varying diameters, so that one barrel telescopes into the other one.
Yours

> I've been reading a lot on the construction, feeding, and sludge removal
from anaerobic digesters. I know the fuel will rise, but how do I get it
pressurized enough to be useful? I've seen the simple tester models that
show collecting it in a rubberized container, then putting a cement block on
the rubberized container to pressurize the fuel whenever you want to use it.
That's fine for a temporary situation, but I'm looking a more viable
long-term solution. I want to start with using the fuel for cooking, but
eventually expand it's use to supplemental water heating and house heating.
