Christian, Hi
I visited ARTI on behalf of the Ashden Awards
(http://www.ashdenawards.org/winners/arti06) last year. They seem to be
installing a large number of units in Maharashtra (700 in total a year ago)
and the demand for units seems high. I visited a number of customers who
seemed very enthusiastic about their purchase. Ashden Awards made a video
which I have made available (at different quality/download rates) on:
http://www.extra.rdg.ac.uk/eng/energy/Video/.
This year I visited another, very similar project - Biotech in Kerala,
South India. The information about it should go up on the Ashden Award
website after about 2 months. There should be a video of this project as
well. Biotech are turning food waste into biogas on a range of scales:
household (as with ARTI), institutional and municipal.
The Indian government (national, state and local) are very committed to
this approach and offer these groups strong support.
Cheers,
David F.
