Dear Luis, Edgar and Frank,
Thank you for your replies regarding excess foam occurring during anaerobic
digestion of rabbit manure. Your advice has been most welcome and of great
benefit. The urgency has abated and the unit has settled into a regular
rhythm. The foam, once expelled, is no longer a problem. It was horrible to
see the plant so sick and vomiting for three days and nights. We both feel
so much better now. It is wonderful to be able to access relevant
information regarding anaerobic digestion through this listing. I live in a
country town where there is no interest in anything beyond the mundane, the
mediocre and televised sport, so it is impossible to find anyone who has any
expertise in micro-organisms and their important contribution to waste
conversion. Over the past few years, I have managed to extract from the
spent supernatant several beneficial outcomes beyond clean burning methane,
these being; plant-available soluble nutrient and carbon compounds I have
utilized to make solid fertilizer pellets, soil amendments, toxic waste
absorbents, filter material and a substance that absorbs oil spilled upon
water. Is there anyone out there who has interest in similar developments?
Best Regards,
Peter Allison.
