G'day All,
Thanks for the article, Srinivas.
In any discussion like this we need to take a "system" view, as the exhaust
emissions are just part of the story. I don't doubt the information given
but would like to know if the energy to compress th gas was considered, as
well as the energy to extract uranium and get the electricity you propose
using in trolley busses. We also need to consider that biogas is using
methane that would probably have escaped to atmosphere anyway AND that every
kWhr of energy from biomas means a kWhr of fossil energy stays underground -
locking up its carbon while we happily cycle existing CO2 via biomas.
Happy digesting,
HOOROO

GAS POWERED BUSES A CLIMATE THREAT..............IS IT TRUEEE ?????
Gas powered buses are often launched as a cheaper alternative to
trolleybuses. However, they emit substances that are more harmful to the
climate than even diesel buses.
The world politicians efforts on combatting global warming is concentrating
on reducing carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.
But is that really so important compared to methane (CH4)?
