[Digestion] question about burning

Dear All,
this spring we have succeeded in building a gobar style plant in Transilvania.  It is now filled and producing gas.  However, we cannot get the gas to burn straight out of the unit.  I am assuming this is because there is no oxygen mixed with it.  Can anyone confirm this?  I would like to stop the head-scratching amongst the farming community.  Cheers,
