I was thinking about putting in for a USAID grant for
Mexico to do the type of neighborhood-level digesters
I was contemplating for Iraq. Depending where the
project was, we could get a climate & altitude very
similar (with a lot less risk of waterboarding by the
CIA). The digesters would co-digesting wastewater,
food waste and local garden & crop waste to power a
Stirling genset. I realize off the shelf Stirlings are
expensive, however, I would make my own.
I've already contacted the USAID rep down in Mexico,
but if anyone knows of other projects we could attach
to it would be helpful. I wouldn't mind making
village-level digesters myself, but it is a Methane to
Markets grant that will need a quantifiable peso
return to be considered.
