LOL!

Hey, I know that group. Laren and I don't play nice together. So, he
banned me from http://groups.yahoo.com/group/WoodGas/ and
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/refrigeratoralternatives/.

(IMO) there is only one such forum that I know of which is truly
informative and has a culture which is encouraging and respectful.

The reason I was booted and later banned was because (in
refrigeratoralternatives) I was mocked for repeating a principle in heat
transfer called the critical radius of insulation:
http://www.eng.fsu.edu/~shih/eml3016/lecture-notes/thermal%20bubble%20jet/sld011.htm
<http://www.eng.fsu.edu/%7Eshih/eml3016/lecture-notes/thermal%20bubble%20jet/sld011.htm>

The idea of more insulation improving conduction was (according to some)
thermodynamically improbable. I responded by saying that one needed to
first explore the right discipline before correcting me on such a well
documented principle.

After an argument, Laren told me that I had one strike against me and
two left (I really don't like sports metaphors). So, basically, I told
him what to do with them. Perhaps I reacted too strongly. What I know
for sure is that I wouldn't go back even if I had the choice. (IMO) the
environment was too poisonous for me to benefit from. And many of us
know how much influence a moderator can have on the culture in an
on-line discussion group.
