[Gasification] Sweden takes biogas to a new level: methane fromwood chips to fuel 75, 000 cars

I was with a group that visited Göteborg Energi AB this past June. At the
time, they were proposing to make synthetic natural gas for their gas
distribution system using syngas from biomass (thermal) gasification. The
natural gas system would also feed their CNG fuel station network.
Renewable methane would not be subject to their fossil fuel tax and would
receive carbon credits.

They were considering either pressurized oxygen-blown gasifier [see the
CHRISGAS project, Varnamo, Sweden http://www.chrisgas.com/ ] or an indirect
near-atmospheric gasifier like that at Gussing, Austria. I don't know if
they settled on a gasifier technology.
