Thanks for the approval.
I'm a little confused by this post, though.
All conversations I've had with you have been "On List" here.
A) OK, no problem, I might be a little confused, I've been talking with
about 8 people in the last week, let alone Christmas and all... sorry.
You've never expresesed skepticism with regard to the furnace I've built, at
least not to me.
A) NO skepticism, at least not personally, rather, all my life, the thing
I've been told "Burning wet wood, you loose all your heat to driving the
moisture off" I agree with this statement, however after reading your site,
you got me thinking...
I don't call 25-30% moisture content to be "green" or "wet" wood. I am
testing my furnace with 43 to 47% moisture content green chips.
A) IMHO, any cord wood, split or non-split, if the MC is greater than the
8-15% mark, I would consider damp, of not wet, 40% and above, I would call
soaking wet.
I don't understand what conection semi-dry cord wood has to do with what I'm
doing, or how it would reduce skepticism..
A) The "Revelation" that came over me, with my findings, is that, The OWB
(outdoor wood boiler) or "Creosote maker" can be tempered with damp wood,
and not produce more creosote, (at least not in the form of blue or brown
smoke). the firebox, ironically, since my initial post, has developed a case
of "fly ash" which was totally un-expected, rather I was convinced that it
would get "goop" formation, which it has not.
I don't understand what you would be sending to a lab.
A) I am of the belief that burning wood to do a task, Heat, electricity, or
otherwise, the emissions to the air, and surrounding area should be as clean
as possible, even if this is not always allowable, within my own financial
capacity, I do try to "do my best" the samples I would be sending are
chimney exhaust, for GCMS gas report. (in %).
