Hi Ken,

You might do well to look at the Kalle Gassifier, it is a charcoal
gassifier that was revolutionary, and I belive is what the famous
charcoal powered Korean Taxies ran on up till the 1970's. This
gassiffier was extrodinary in that it recirculated a large amount of
engine exhaust right into the air in stream using the exhaust heat to
liberate CO. Also note the rubber diaphram which apparently when
opperating properly would vibrate the bayonet assembly creating a sort
of fluidized bed around the nozzle. This is a very interesting
gassifier that apparently was the best going at the time haveing a very
high turn down ratio, and very trouble free operation.

I wish I had more time to comment these days, I have been lurking but
not had time to do more than that. I hope that some find this
interesting though. I belive that this system has been discussed on
the list a few years ago, but I think many of the newer members will
find it interesting to see that the standard downdraft (imbert style),
though a great unit is only one way to get the job done.

Take Care
Drew
