Ahhh, no, it is not -- as I said, I've been on this list a very
long time, and most of the people here do not post off-topic. As a
matter of fact, if you or anyone else had posted about ethanol here 10
years ago, you would have been flooded with nasty emails.
Unfortunately, I suspect many of those very erudite and knowledgable
people are now long gone from this list as I never see them posting
anymore.

You clearly don't understand -- when I mentioned drive space, I was
talking about the repp.org server -- and the moderator here (as
elsewhere on repp) has quite often asked people to trim their posts.
It is indeed very much a problem, not only for repp.org, but also for
those people searching the archives for information.
But also -- yes -- a longer email is very much a problem for many
of us here on these lists. We have to download all that before we can
even see if we want ot delete it or not -- and for people on slow
dialup connections, or those who have to pay by the byte, that is a
serious problem. For me -- a big part of the year I am living in my
cabin in the northwoods of Minnesota. It is off-grid, no phone (within
two miles) and my only net access is when I go to town once a week and
go to the library -- where I am only allowed one 1/2 hour of net
access. That is barely enough time to look at my bank account, and
then quickly try to delete all the crap on my email account and maybe
not even then get to respond to any personal emails.
So -- like I said, having been on this partiuclar list for many
years, I now find it so clogged with off-topic posts (only during the
last 2 or 3 years) that I am forced to unsubscribe during the time I
am up north -- and frankly, that really, truly, pisses me off.

No -- if I see an off-topic post from you again, you may be very
assured that I rwill seriously roast your ass.

I'm a retired unix systems administrator and network engineer. And
yes, in reply to your other post, I most certainly do have an english
major besides, in Creative Writing, as a matter of fact. And am also a
published poet and writer. You might like reviewing my CV at:
