It takes nearly zero effort to implement. Most thiols are very odiferous and
a drop or two injected in a reduced gas stream would be extremely evident.
If cost is an issue use ammonium sulfide which is nearly free.

Yes, at least on the commercial level, as I said -- the original poster
seemed to be thinking on a more local level, where that might take a lot
more effort to implement.
