[Gasification] ...a question about hybrids

"The standard 'battery' is a capacitor."'
Standard? Not now but, maybe soon:

As far as the whole concept is concerned, I agree with Tom (I think it was Tom). It's ingenious. Someone actually thought of a way to augment a conventional gasoline powered car with a motor/generator without significant modifications to the vehicle. In my opinion, it takes conventional wisdom on hybrids and stands it on it's head.
I really don't know one way or the other what the numbers might be but, I'm really curious to find out.

The standard "battery" is a capacitor. Refer to your high school physics
text to discover what its storage and discharge characteristics are. These
folk anticipate offering a lithium ion battery pack (read:$$), so it must
not be a cure-all for storage. Watt x hour density is ok but not phenomenal;
leakage is a big problem and cost is high.
Is this really going to take "...a minimum of three seconds" off the 0-60
time of my Turbo Carrera? All of that power transmitted through that 11mm
wide HTD belt drive!
What is the technology? Is it energy storage? Generator/motor hybridism? In
times of doubt, fall back on first principles: Conservation of Energy, Mass
and Momentum.

Dear All,
For producer gas it does have some arousing points:
For a genset it may help with governor droop.
For the auto and lorry the larger battery pak would help with cranking and
fanning. Also assist up hills. Furthermore at a stop light it could be
charging hence lower gasifier turndown ratio (maybe).
