[Gasification] storing wood gas.

i recently asked the same question and was told woodgas doesn't store well
under pressure. that the CO breaks down to C and CO2.
can someone fill in more details on this problem? yes, i realize there is a
pumping efficiency issue. but currently i am just interested in the
physical viability of storage, irrespective of the efficiency issues.
does the break down happen after x amount of time? or is there a pressure
maximum before the problem starts? temperature issues? etc?
more details on the specific parameters of the problem would be much
appreciated.
