[Gasification] torrefaction

  The referenced site mentioned alcohol introduction.  Do you have any feel for what that does downstream or what that might accomplish in torrefaction?  And was the goal to make better fuel or continue pyrolysis?  Would increasing residency time in drying achieve similar results  
   
  Concerning use of the gas in an IC (diesel) engine.  Seems like it should have three valves ... gas, oxygen and exhaust for sufficient flow. Seen one?
