It was called an "inverted downdraft", simply because  it was very similar 
to a downdraft gasifier turned upsiode down. When this was done, the fire 
was the on the top.

Then it was very easy to use a simple "pressure fan" at the bottom to 
develop a "delta P" across the bed, and keep the fire going. Researchers 
could easily see what was going on.

So, I would suggest that if you reverted an inverted downdraft, you would 
have pressurized downdraft gasifier with bottom discharge at atmospheric 
pressure.

Recall from a previous thread about a month or 7 weeks ago,where there was a 
detailed discussion on DD and IDD gasifiers, and there was a feeling that 
they are different in detail, because of  convection forces. In both cases, 
the "Superficial Velocity" is important.
