I have never used a plasma cutter. Plasma cutter will cut aluminum and
stainless, the Henrob will not (it will weld both). I am not a fan of
stainless steel in DIY gasifier projects so this is not a problem for me.

I'm sure a plasma cutter would do a little better job at cutting my junked
hot water heaters. But the cheapest plasma is about $1000.00 and I have a
$600.00 (small) MIG that taught me that it is a bad choice to buy an entry
model. So my theory is that I would have to spend about $2500.00 for a
solid MIG and another $2500.00 for a solid Plasma torch.

The only thing that can go wrong with the Henrob is that the tip gets
dirty and need cleaned.

Later I'll ask Tom Miles to make a "Henrob 2000" album folder on the
gasification page and I'll post some pictures of my handy work
welding/cutting (SMILE) (a small start on an article).
