[Gasification] concentrating heat in exhaust or sorting nitrogen from gas stream with a hilsch tube

I suggested this device previously, but am not realy sure how it would 
work in this application.    I would love to see one hooked to an ic 
exhaust, with the output gas stream maximized for heat (to go to heat 
exchanger steam superheater or ?).    In the following description it is 
mostly described as a refrigeration device, but it also can "sort" by 
molecular weight,

this might alow the hydrogen to be sorted from the post producer gas 
stream?
