Hello Brennan, and list members,
I would say, what has worked for me is an $80 wet tile saw from Princess
Auto, and "refractory splits" (firebrick splits) I cut them into beveled
sections and used refractory cement, so to speak, to make an octagon shell
in a steel can, with a hole in the bottom.
I'll find a photo of it for you if you wish, the whole thing, (including saw
and a spare blade, that I didn't use for that job) splits and cement was
under 150.00cdn. taxes in.
And you still have the saw !

Subject: [Gasification] Riser Sleeves
Dear Gas-List Users,
Can anyone suggest a good source for inexpensive riser sleeves and
castable
refractories. I need a liner for an up-draft gasifier and also for a
gas flare.
Possibly some of the Canadian listers can suggest a Canadian source so
that I won't have to pay duties. The online ordering at Thermal Ceramics
seems alright but they have a minimum $250 order.
Thanks,
Brennan Henderson
