It would cost $3000 to ship that container load from Florida to Belize.
And say -- another $300 to get it to my place here.
So -- $3300.
So transport costs alone would amount to -- roughly --
3300/2906 = $1.14 gallon -- ready to fuel the diesel.
2904 gallons per day -- would sure make a lot of electricity --
What would the BTU value be??
Figure a high efficiency diesel engine at 40% net out --
Well -- looking at a fast figure -- say 80,000 BTU per US gallon.
Say 32,000 BTU "net" as electric power.
Or -- 9372 watts -- say 9 kwh energy per US gallon of US surplus body fats
2904/24 = 121 gal per hour
1089 kwh
Call it a one meg power plant --
That would be enough to do all the villages in a great area around here!!
Price of electric power here is 22 cents US per kwh.
$220 US per hour -- gross income.
Cost of "fuel" -- 121 * 1.14 = $138 per hour.
Leaving $82 per hour for "costs"
Hmm -- certainly would be well worth that effort!!
Shipping costs could be reduced dramatically by using a small "tanker" --
That tanker could pick up on a bi-monthly basis from a few more cities
along the Eastern Seaboard.
Belize has a peak power use of but 65 megs!!
Bet you we could supply all the power we need in this way!!
