[Gasification] Something Might be Wrong (OT??)

Dear ksv;

The leading technology in "fans" -- higher efficiency blades -- higher
efficiency DC PM motors -- is in the automotive industries latest
innovations in regard to electric cooling fans for car radiators.

What has been achieved is quite incredible --

It would be simple indeed to adapt this technology to room fans.

Buy an electric car radiator fan and adapt it accordingly.

I am sitting under a ceiling mounted fan that was "salvaged" from a 1981
Volks rabbit diesel -- that does a superb job of cooling but yet draws but
130 watts of power.

Mind you -- for that 130 watts (measured from the current going into the
salvaged IBM PC power supply) -- it feels like I am sitting by the sea with
30 mph winds!!

Granted -- a little over kill.

But a standard large store bought fan which blows probably 1/4 as much air
-- if not less -- uses 140 watts!!

Just keep clicking.

Not to much technical specs -- but you will see some interesting graphics
of fan designs.

And of course -- PM DC motors is a very refined art in the automotive world.

Where incentive for squeezing more miles out of a gallon of fuel is far
greater that conserving energy by increasing efficiencies for house fans.

Every energy saving device should be fully utilised. Fans are used a lot in
tropical countries
such as India and normal middle class households cannot afford air
conditioners in such countries. Information on where such fans are
available would be most welcome.

Automobiles can save 20%+ gasoline/diesel if the cylinder heads are grooved
as per the invention/patent of Mr Somender Singh, who claims o have
modified upwards of 150 engines and so have put on 100,000 Km after
modification. Details are at
