Outstanding web page on ice. Loved the picture of the men sawing out ice. At
one time here ice was a cottage industry.
The book that I'm slowly reading is "Five Acres and Independence" it was
written in 1935. I like to think of this time period as the begining of the
end of farming.
Anyhow this book goes on and on about stuff like this and what to to and how
to do it. For example the average family will need 5 tons of ice per year and
3000 lbs per cow....
I like his basement ice refrigerator with a bumb waiter to bring your food
upstairs into the kitchen. Air flow, salt, drainage etc.
Thanks for the web page,
Jeff
