I forgot to mention -- they take "Boosting" real well -- at least the old
Rabbit diesel models -- I use another one as the blower/drier on my coconut
oil operation - -for fast drying the wet gratings on the hot plate -- but
at 24 volts instead of 12!!

It has not "worn-out" yet -- and it really moves a lot of air!!

If your looking around the scrap yard for one -- I believe those in cars
with air conditioning are almost twice the capacity of normal.

Yes -- one of those little recognized off the shelf technologies always
staring us in the face but we not looking at it hard enough.

And -- they should make nifty little DC dynamos to??

Well -- the old volks's model has brushes -- so it might.

The newer ones probably are brushless -- micro processor controlled --
operating in a feed back loop to the engine temperatures -- and thus only
turning on exactly as much as required -- instead of always full blast.

I did a long searching of fan supplies in China -- but results number in
the thousands -- and even though I looked at a 100 at least -- all I found
were the normal kind of stand fans.

Can you find these new high efficiency stand fans based on superior blade
design and PM brushless DC motors??

I am sure they exist!

But finding one has eluded me so far.

And one last extra tip -- all modern car heater blowers also now be PM DC
motors -- and superior blower design.

I use Rabbit car heater blowers -- four of them on four separate entry
tubes - for my tire burning charcoal blasting furnace. And again -- over
volt them to 24 DC -- and they take it!!

I plan to make up a small blast furnace for cast iron foundry work using
these same style blowers as well.

I have this need battery charger -- 6 or 12 or 24 or 36 or 48 volts -- ranges.

And each range has five "clicks" for different charge ratings at each
voltage setting -- which is simply -- more voltage dividing.

It boots out 50 amps of DC to!!

And is heavier than a normal 180 amp electric welder!!

If the radiator fans don't do it -- heater blowers will!!

Also -- I just noted that Busses have huge DC blowers for ventilation!!

There is a bus graveyard not far from my place here ----

Peter
