Dear list.
I have a couple of heavy duty "syne wave" inverters going spare. Which run on 6x12v lawn mower batteries. A 72 volt DC to 115 & 220Vac output at 30 amps. Cheap inverters are often " modified synewave" which is quite "un-good" for some electronic or sensitive equipment. The syne wave, is produced by inductive means, consisting of a transformer, which the cheap ones don't posses, A 240 volt X 30 amp transformer is no light weight item. I cannot lift either of these units, when the batteries are installed.
A modern innovation has recently been adopted by solid state wizardry, which entails the use of micro stepped switching of the gates ,which enable the almost seamless production of a syne wave out put, rendering the wound component obsolete. These new, "Syne wave", Transformer less, output inverters, are still expensive. The "banked" inverters are quite an innovation. I suppose they automatically lock into synchronism when the power is switched on.
because they all start at the same time? Try doing that with three or four rotating alternators?
The storage of electricity is peripheral to this discussion so I will get back to the essence.
My immediate need is to design a gasifier which will convert "crack" heavy oil or fat into a gas, which is suitable for a 4 stroke IC engine of the gasoline type. Diesels are expensive, gasoline engines are plentiful.
I do not really want to have a "glowing char" to fulfill this requirement.
How about:"thermal catalytic conversion" by getting a bunch of "ceramic balls white hot" as a catalyst?
instead of CHAR. or better still grabbing some power from the out put and running an ARC in the path of the

Hi Harmon,

Your correct and they are better because they draw less current but all seem
to be out of my price range.
