Heck, the drink chiller can be the outlet for the AC system. That would
give a huge mileage gain. If people want an RV fridge, it will have to
build up some ice to get though the non-travel times, and have an alternate
heat source or folks will be revving their motors to freeze their catch.

That one I presented was "three-way" -- gas -- AC or 12/24 DC
So -- use the cigarette lighter plug!!
I wonder if they will ever develop an absorption system to at least help
regular AC's in cars -- and your right -- boost the milage.
If one used all the exhaust heat -- well -- a 150 HP diesel boat engine can
produce one ton of ice per day -- just to set a base line -- eh??
However -- even a small car air conditioner is rated at what -- 6 tons or
more??
Car air is a huge sucker of energy!!
You know -- I live in the hot tropics and have never had a vehicle with
"air" ---
We do keep all the windows rolled down --
So -- am not ready to go fight a war to keep a style of life I never had --
either!!
What a disappointment I would be to a certain VP with the initials DC -- eh??
The US people alone could probably extend peak oil by one hundred years
alone -- just by not using AC in their cars!!
Course -- hallowed is that life style ---
It is all so futile -- aint it??
Willing to gamble the total destruction of a planet -- of mankind -- just
to maintain a fat assed life style that is not required for comfortable
survival.
Sorry folks -- I just will never be able to see the sense of it -- the
reasoned logic of it.
Well -- go ahead -- do what historically the human race has always done --
just when one reaches the top -- they lose it -- fall down.
And see how they defend their right to be losers!!
Einstein -- Kurt -- Twain and I --- (to name but a few)
Just remember -- we that already live conservatively have a much less high
drop to fall.
The larger they live -- the greater they fall!!
