Dear Jonathan and All:

Mr. Shivayam Ellis, the inventor of the new NGEN gasifier is my
God-Grandson and we have been working together for 16 years, ever since
he helped me build my laboratory in our spare garage. His father is
Agua Das (Ellis) and we work together now at the Biomass Energy
Foundation (mostly me and books) and the Biomass Energy and Carbon
Corporation (gasifiers, reformers and carbon), recently founded by Jim
Fournier at our 3000 ft2 lab here in Golden.

Shivayam and I were working as subcontractors on a DOD project to
convert Army field kitchen waste into gas for cooking back in 2004-5 and
we made a small experimental gasifier that was elegant and simple. When
we finished that project Shivayam decided to refine the design into a
power gasifier system and he and a team of gasifier elves has been
working full time on the *"ECO-5"* in his Denver shop to make it a
reality. Now you can see great pictures of the unit working at their
website,

Be sure to click on the arrow below to see all the pictures ( I missed
them the first time through). This is the first really new gasifier
system that I have heard of in the last decade or two.

Shivayam has wisely kept this development at arms length from his father
and me, since we tend to be blabber mouths. But we have both seen and
admired it. I hope to have it available, along with our stoves and
books, at our website in the near future.

Shivayam, Das and I all worked with Robb Walt and Art Lilly during the
startup days of Community Power Corporation. My Biomass Energy
Foundation is more interested in research than commercial development
and Shivayam and Das had other priorities so we haven't worked with CPC
since ~2003. But we all know each other and are pursuing related goals.

Incestuous, isn't it.

Up with Gasifiers and biomass,
