[Gasification] FW: Producer Gas Analyzer for gasifier

greg manning wrote me with a fwd of an ad for a chinese gas analyser
firm that is manufacturing units specifically for syngas analysis.
their units are built on IR sensors, which is usually preferable to
the thermochemical types, though usually more expensive.  the link is

i wrote them a note inquiring on prices.  if we find this attractive,
maybe a few of us can go in together and get multiple units.

this is encouraging that chinese manufacturers are turning these out.
i should have looked there.  time to go wander alibaba.com a bit and
see who else in china is working in this area.

at the same time, one of the main motivations we are building a unit
ourselves is that we want to gain experience working with the raw
sensor components.  as you know, there are many opps for improved
gasifier performance once we integrate temp and gas sensing, with
active control of parameters in relation to the real time data.  so
eventually we will need to work with raw components for building
embeded control systems.

starting with units already in a machine is less helpful, but then
again, seeing what the chinese figured out after surveying the options
is clearly desired.  they have most likely done very good due
diligence on the current options.
