Incoprera, F. P. and De Witt, D. P.. 1995. Fundamentals of heat and mass
transfer: fourth edition. John. Wiley and Sons, New York, USA is a recent
version of the text I studied. It is not a cookbook but covers the basics
and gives you the design tools and approximations you need to design and
analyze heat exchangers. Powell's probably has an earlier edition cheap.

Subject: [Gasification] heat exchanger / boiler design book recommendations?
my heat exchanger knowledge is less than desired. does anyone have
high value literature suggestions for heat exchanger design?
particularly in the high temp gas to gas and steam boiler world?
i imagine there is a standard reference work that i should be directed
to. the ones previously suggested for fluidized beds and drying were
deeply rewarding. hopefully someone can offer a similarly well chosen
title in this realm.
thanks in advance.
