Hi Greg,
I have been using Open Office for 2 years, it is an opensource
software project that is underwritten by some very big players (Sun
Microsystems). It contains a Word, Spreadsheet, Powerpoint type
program that will open, edit, and save files in Windows formats. I
find it better than the 2000 office I was using before. I also am
using Thunderbird an opensource email program, and Firefox an opensource
web browser. All of these programs installed easier than any
microsurf product, and in the email and web programs saved and converted
all my previous email, bookmark and address book data with one click.
I to may convert to apple one day, and when I do, I will be able to
transfer files, and be up and running on mac without delay because all
these programs are available for mac as well.
All the best
Drew
