[Gasification] Therepeutic Smoke

Dear Paul and All:

Wood smoke isn't all bad.  It is useful as a food preservative and a 
roof deverminizer.

Recent posts have addressed the problem of protecting thatched roofs 
with smoke while eliminating indoor air pollution with no smoke.  
Fortunately, smoke and heat rise, so one could smoke the roof while the 
kids were at school if you had a good smoker. 

Paul suggested using the TLUD gasifier with the secondary combustion air 
holes close off. 

Another possibility is a bee smoker, sold by beekeeping  supply 
houses.   You fill it with biomass junk (old rags etc.) and pump the 
bellows.  A heavy stream of smoke jets out.  The bees panic when they 
smell smoke and gorge themselves on honey and become docile.

Smoke will probably keep the wildlife out of the underside of the roof.  
How about an elixer of smoke to pour on the outside?

My first gasifier (1973) filled a whole valley with smoke in Concord, 
MASS.
