What about white paint? and are we supposed to be emulating the focusing
qualities of the Hubble telescope.? A KW per sq meter is arriving at the
meridian at mid day, and we are not greedy.
A far simpler method for concentrating the suns rays onto a target, such as
a black painted 1/2"tube laid east to west. would be to get a heated roller
,say 6" wide and turn a bunch of grooves into it which closely resemble:
Fresnel grooves .
Strait Linear grooves which when impressed upon the clear thermo plastic
strips will provide a short focal length suitable for the tube to receive the
lions share of the reflected rays at most times of the day. Lay a bunch of
these under the strips and you have your self an ENERGY absorbing roof.
If you cant orient the tube in the most favorable position. change the
groove orientation.
I think the coke bottle idea is much easier. I have coke bottles that have
been exposed to fifteen years of Florida sunshine. They are made of REAL
plastic.
