What about white paint? and are we supposed to be emulating the  focusing 
qualities of the Hubble telescope.?  A KW  per sq meter is  arriving at the 
meridian at mid day, and we are not greedy.
A far simpler method for concentrating the suns rays onto a target, such as  
a black painted 1/2"tube laid east to west. would be to get a heated roller 
,say  6" wide and turn a bunch of grooves into it which closely resemble: 
Fresnel  grooves .
 Strait Linear grooves which when impressed upon  the clear  thermo plastic 
strips will provide a short focal length suitable for the tube to  receive the 
lions share of the reflected rays at most times of the day. Lay a  bunch of 
these under the strips and you have your self an ENERGY absorbing  roof.
 If you cant orient the tube in the most favorable position. change  the 
groove orientation.
I think the coke bottle idea is much easier. I have coke bottles that  have 
been exposed to fifteen years of Florida sunshine. They are made of  REAL 
plastic.
