William,

You tell me:

If you understand how membrane filtration works, you will know that they are
both slow and expensive. As far as methane goes, try asking a digester
specialist, because methane in producer gas means tar once you go over about
2-3% by volume. this is a kiss of death to any filtration system, engines
and compressors.

So it is cheaper to concentrate methane?

Nobody will stop you from doing anything that you consider right for your
situation, and if you have the finance to set up gas separation systems,
then it is a good investment, and you will be driving on tanked gas, while
some will choose the mobile option. I have no preferences myself, but know
from experience that the mobile option is pretty good.
