Tom,

There's also recent short book by a British engineer on Tesla boundary disk 
turbines and air compressors:

"The Tesla Disc Turbine", ISBN No. 0-9536523-2-7, by "W.M.J. Cairns. I.Eng, 
M.I.E.D, Reg. Engineering Designer".  2001 - 2003.  I have a copy.  Cairns 
provides Tesla's original patent drawings, a brief history, an overview of 
the underlying theory and drawings and reports of recent testing of modern 
experimental units.

"Possible with further development" is how I view the Tesla Disk Turbine 
concept.  The advantages of a lightweight turbine engine that can be 
manufactured using sheet metal, low end engine lathes and drill presses for 
tools, and burn producer gas for fuel, don't need elaboration right now.
