[Gasification] Observations On Inlet Air Temperature

 Greetings All.

Last night, it got very cold here, colder than it's been in the last 2
years.

The air was so cold, that cordwood in our outdoor boiler did not want to
burn, without "Forcing" the burn with massive amounts of "XS" air, using an
inlet blower.

This observation has caused me to rethink Superficial Velocity (SV) on
tuyeres in my downdraft gasifiers.

I am going to build a small single tuyere "Slice" with refractory sides and
back, but with "cerama-lite" clear glass front, as to view the function of
SV vs. air temp vs. throat placement within this "Slice" gasifier.

I ask that anyone with ideas of what should be re-configurable and/or
testable within this "slice" gasifier, please contribute to this post, as I
feel this unit will possibly answer many questions, from the point of
viewing the process, in real time.

I have the following:

inlet air temp.
core temp.
SV "lobe shape"
Tuyere to throat height
Tuyere to throat inclination
gas quality (Via GCMS results)

I would be happy to post my findings with photos and results.
