[Gasification] Temperature of Ash Slagging (Clinker) formation

In my experience, I have found that although type K thermocouples may be 
rated for the temperature you stated, they do not last in the severe environment 
of a gasifier. I recommend a type S platinum-rhodium for operation if in a 
slagging condition with a thicker alumna tube to handle the mechanical load. 
There are other ways to control the temperature run up.
