I know -- as normally any lubrication oil over the top of the piston in a
diesel is burned up along with the fuel.

Exhaust valve guide leaking?? But that should blow the other direction!!

It is not a large amount of oil -- if you put a board a foot or so from the
exhaust -- with no muffler in line -- you will see many small specs of raw
oil.

Some Lister clones do this much more than others ---

Also -- they do it much more when new -- less when well broke in -- 

So could be oil on cylinder walls at bottom of power stroke??
