Hi Gasification Colleagues,
Again this discussion about producer gas in engines, and it's effect on oil
are being discussed, all due to a question taken out of context with the
understanding of the writer. If the best you can do is use clapped out
engines and remove oil rings, then go to it.
If you want an answer that was posted for this forum on the subject when it
was last discussed, them check the Fluidyne Archive www.fluidynenz.250x.com
Scrolled down to Producer Gas, Engine Oil, and Soot, where you will find a
basic explanation of what happens. We have also had long discussions about
engine life, and the reasons why cold clean tar, and moisture free, producer
gas is the only option for reliability.
If you want to prove any points to show your dedication to this technology,
start by making a gasifier that has no condensable tar, then try and make a
good engine work on that.
Doug Williams,
Fluidyne Gasification.
